Just around the corner on Bagot Rd after Rokeby Spring Espresso is a hidden secret and the only place you can get REAL COFFEE in Perth, hell, probably Western Australia. While Brew-Ha burn their horrid excuse for beans around the corner, the owners of Spring are there morning after morning ensuring that every cup is perfect. Hooray for Spring!

Takeaway coffee was good, service great and staff had a friendly happy attitude.
I have been to Spring a few times where it has been absolutely packed and what makes this a good coffee place is the staff can handle the busy times without it affecting the coffee and service. Many of the locals frequent this place.

Was recommended but sorry, no way for this place. Nondescript coffee similar to chain place. It was really average in terms of taste. The milk texture was ok. The vibe is weird. Not a genuine coffee/ espresso bar in terms of interest and quality focus around coffee but more like a chain place. Sorry.

After moving to Subiaco a couple of months ago, and not being at all impressed at some of the local cafes, I was very keen to experience Spring Espresso after reading the reviews on here.
The cafe is nicely decorated, although, a bit small. It was mostly full of mothers when I visited, which wasn’t that great for the ambience of the place.
I ordered a flat white in a mug, and my girlfriend order a glass of fresh vegetable juice. I wasn’t at all impressed by the coffee – it didn’t have a ‘kick’ to it, and tasted mostly like warm, flavoured milk. The foam on top of the flat white was nice and velvety, but otherwise, I wasn’t at all blown away by the coffee.
I would probably return if I was in the area, but, I have many a better cup in my time.

Spring has sprung.
It’s a bit of a mum hangout, but if you love coffee and are secure to be seen at a ‘mum hangout’ then get in and order a coffee to go… it’ll rock your world. I had to take the lid off mine to make sure it was just coffee… the bean the roast is unique, fruity, and bold.

Hanging around with some friends in subiaco, finally chosen a place to go for a cup of coffee and I think “Spring” is really a good one to go. Coffee flavoured is so good.

It is a nice small cafe in the area. They can get quite busy but the size of the cafe is a bit small. May be is time for the owner to think about a larger one? Just a thought.
Coffee is quite ok and good after taste. Unlike other cafe once you finish the coffee for just couple minutes, all coffee taste is gone.

These guys pull 4s and 5s from me regularly – lately I’ve hit them when busy so they have been a little off but still way above most (nearly all other) spots around. A real COFFEE cafe!

Coffee is good but overrated. Service is friendly but I found the ambience lacking a bit. It’s noisy out front with too much traffic and a bit cramped.

Best coffee in the area. Small cafe which is a little bit hidden from the rest (as all good cafes are). Ordered a flat white as always to make a valid assessment. Beautiful latte art, some of the best I have seen not to mention a really lovely tasting coffee. No bitter aftertaste that I read a few times. 1 cup wasnt enough. Spring is definately worth the extra 100m walk!

fantastic coffee, wonderfully knowledgeable staff and a good atmosphere also. i love 5 senses, and these guys do it really well. definitely top of my list of places to go when im in subi.

I heard good things but must admit I was disappointed. My coffee tasted smokey, not burnt, but it left me with a long bitter aftertaste. It seems like they may not use the same beans all the time, so maybe I went on the wrong day. I’ll try it again, but I won’t go out of my way.

…Its pretty popular to bag Perth Coffee, but Spring Espresso is another example of the Perth Coffee Scene socking it to the Melbourne Coffee fanatics. These guys are professionals at what they do and are part of a group of Perth Coffee Shop owners pushing the boundaries.

Went there today to see what all the hype was about and the place was packed…Came back after it slowed down somewhat and ordered Short Macc… WOW. These guys are the only cafe/restaurant in Perth that I have been to that do 5senses coffee well. The coffee was well extracted, the milk well textured and they managed some mighty fine art to top it off… Well done guys.

When this is written, Spring is placed at a ridiculous 15th place. What is the matter with people?
Recently voted one of two places from WA worth a visit, in the Australian, I think it lives up to every expectation. I have over the years followed Springs development, and it is on a consistent curve these guys are on! Constantly bringing over coffee from the Eastern States, playing around with Syphons, cold drips and other various brewing methods, there is always something going on here!
And Spring’s got one of the nicest and friendliest crews in the city, and some nice food to eat as well. Go there, now!

I didn’t find Spring to match the hype at all, this was recommended by a few people too. I found their long mac to be so burnt that I had to add sugar AND a dollup of ice cream from my friend’s affogato! The interior is very cool, lots of strange coffee contraptions, and on a Saturday arvo was very chilled so gave it average marks.

A great little spot. We came in on a Saturday and asked for a syphon coffee and even though it wasn’t a standard day syphon coffees they accommodated us beautifully with wonderful service. We really enjoyed our visit.
They served up a beautiful looking latte for my friend, though he felt it was a little weak for his liking he still enjoyed it.
A great cafe experience.

Very tasty coffee, friendly staff that know what they’re on about. Well worth a look on Monday or Friday when they break out the syphon, takes a while to make but the taste is fascinating…good fascinating though, definitely a good thing.
The mark against ambience is purely from the a/c which is in an unfortunate location and, when on, drips onto some of the seats. Hardly a dealbreaker mind you.

Great coffee at this place – nice and strong with not a hint of bitterness. I regularly drink long macs from here and now I feel that most other shops long macs are too weak (epic hint hint!)
Zach and the crew are very friendly. The place is small and always busy, but that doesn’t detract from the quality coffee.
Side note: I wish they would ban prams in their shop. Some of the Subi mum’s that frequent the place think it is acceptable to jam their prams in the doorway and have a chat while us coffee addicts are trying to get in the door for our next hit.

This little secret hidden in Subiaco seems to have quite a reputation. Coffees were served very quickly by the friendly staff but my long mac did have a slight bitter aftertaste. Although this won’t stop me from a return visit.

The cafe is a bright, vibrant, open design with seating inside and out spilling into the mall and onto Bagot road. Quick service and good coffee has revived my taste for the bean after a few weeks of travel and holidays where I seemed to be unlucky wherever I bought coffee. Nice work Spring!

I heard about Spring in the article in The Australian that mentions the cafe as one of the top 10 cafes in Australia.
It’s a tiny little cafe and was pretty busy when we went but they still put out 4 great looking coffees, all with detailed latte art. It looks like they do their own roasts/blends. My coffee was a tad weak but had great flavour.. Coffees came out nice and quick even tho they were busy.
