I had read an article online about tiger tiger and it had a very good review (that author was blind or mislead after my experience today and reading through the reviews.)
There were plenty of staff however they all seemed to be lost. The barista was rude.
We walked to the counter to order a coffee and the girl proceeded to arrange a takeaway coffee however we asked for dine in and were rudely told by the barista ‘no’ its table service, you need to sit down at a table and not come to the counter’. The girl then impatiently asked, where we intended to sit and anyway we eventually said do not worry about it we will have the takeaway.
i would also like to note there is no indication of table service, in Perth at most coffee places you order at the counter, unless it is a restaurant.
I also noticed the staff were not friendly to each other, i feel sorry from them. The vibe in Tiger Tiger is tense.
Such a shame as it’s located in a really peaceful place in the city.

Coffee was brewed to mediocre standards, but not as good as I expected from a place this hyped up. Once again, this place seems makes money from pure existential reasons. It looks nice and exists, so people go to it. Their are much better coffee shops in it’s vicinity.

Don’t bother with the ‘home made’ beans. Nothing special. Zekka beans down the road are much better,

finally visted tiger tiger on a sat morning after all the hype. Coffee was good, full bodied, smooth with great textured milk. Poached eggs were way overcooked so not impressed. Having said that the service was prompt considering the place was invaded by the lycra brigade. Will return and sample the home made beans or baked egg/chorizo

I’ve been to Tiger Tiger plenty of times, and t’s a great place to have a break from shopping in the city- i like the vibe of the whole alleyway/outdoor area and the food is yum. However, service is very average and the coffee may be a little below.

was a nice experience. fun location, staff need a little more training to bring out the ‘nice’ feel.

LOL If Tiger is the number one Cafe in Perth then I’m moving to Afghanistan.
The coffee’s ok but the food and especially SERVICE leaves a lot to be desired. People need to aim a little (or a lot) higher if they want Perth to actually get somewhere one day when it comes to the hospitality industry.

It is insane that Tiger Tiger is not rated the number one cafe in Perth. The best cup of coffee every single time – every day it has been open!!!!!

Great addition to the upcoming Perth alleyway dining experience. Good fiori coffee and a nice little selection of sweets. I find the opening hours slightly obscure because probably 3/5 times I’ve been there its been closed. Maybe I have gone on a Sunday, not too sure.
Great atmosphere though. Get the biggest coffee you can find because they have small cups!

Such a shame. I used to go here all the time and always really enjoyed the coffee, the food and the gorgeous setting. But then other places sprung up that were much friendlier, quicker and with coffee as good or even better. The big problem is the service and the attitude you get if you ask for your coffee to be made the way you like it (“this isn’t Miss Mauds” – wtf?). It’s not a pleasant experience, and losing Jackson hasn’t helped either.

yeah shame about this place as it used to be good when it first opened a few years back. They became popular and in typical perth fashion it got to their head. The owner is quite abrupt and uninviting. Their food/coffee is reasonable but the coffee hasn’t been the same since jackson went to zekka. oh well.

Heard many things about tiger tiger so went there to try but very disappointed! First of all, service is not good. Second, the atmosphere and staff are so unwelcome. Last but not the least, coffee is so average and it is definitely not the best one in perth.

Coffee’s gone downhill since their best barista left (now at another cafe on King St, won’t mention names). Coffee now quite average. That’s when and if, any staff actually come to take your order at your table, oh, and that’s after 12 o’clock??? Confusing. Why not just make it table service all day?
Staff are quite rude if, and when, they do finally get to your table.

I’ve only been a couple of times but love the atmosphere. The staff are friendly and interested in coffee/food/drinks.
Coffee was good but not outstanding.
A great place to hide away.

Ok kinda place – nice location (forget about the Melbourne feel – it has a GREAT PERTH FEEL). Coffee was above average but service indifferent and not all that welcoming to a first time visitor….as a result not a place I would rush back to.

Coffee was average, mine was burnt, and I’d prob go elsewhere in the city for a coffee. The inside is so small you’re pretty much guaranteed to be sitting outside where everyone smokes (i thought this was against the law…) and when it’s a rainy day it really really sucks. On the upside the service was really good.

I love the coffee here, but my friend’s short mac was a bit burnt. I always have cappuccinos so I think the sweetness of the milk cuts the coffee. Waitress was efficient and recommended a great chocolate cake (their tiramisu is good too). The only downside is that it’s small inside and people outside smoke.
But I am thrilled that they got their liquor license only because it means they are open for longer hours and I can come by and grab my coffee!

This place was quite nice when it first opened. Nowadays the coffee is hit and miss and the owner is really up herself. I’ve had several rude comments and even some laughable ones. The general service is also very hit and miss depending on who’s working. Shame really as it is quite a nice alleyway. From being a regular twice a week customer I’m down to may be once every few months these days. Perth establishments are still very immature when it comes to customer service. A little bit of success gets to their head and it all goes downhill from there. It also says a lot about the Perth customer base who are generally satisfied with mediocrity.

I’ve been yelled at here for asking polite questions about the coffee. One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had in my life.
Coffee is average, but otherwise it’s a great little place that makes me think of Barcelona!

I love to go to Tiger Tiger to sit down and chill out. It has a great Bohemian feel about it and even though it’s right in the city you feel like you’ve escaped for a little while.
The coffee’s never been outstanding for me but has satisfied that caffeine craving and the staff are always prompt and very accommodating.
If you’re looking for a little place to get away from it all for a while then this is the place to go.

To me this has a very Melbourne feel to it, I have not been disappointed with the coffee yet

I like Tiger Tiger so much, that I made a special trip there, on my wedding day between the ceremony and reception. Coffee can be a little hit and miss, although this seems to have improved of late. Service, as others have mentioned, ranges from brilliant to non-existent, which lets down an otherwise fantastic cafe`. The liquor licensing changes have added another great aspect to the place and given it a great boho feel.

Beans – Fiori. Quality barista-ing producing consistent coffee. At the end of the day, this is all one can ask for. Solid wine and beer list to choose from in the afternoon/evenings.

What’s not to love about Clare’s coffee bar? The coffee is of the highest standard, the food is fantastic and the wine list superb. I love tiger, tiger.

This place serves the BEST coffee in Perth. Being a regular drinker here for the last two years I have NEVER had a bad coffee. Tiger, Tiger is the only coffee shop that I have been to that can claim this (I actually fear the day I go here and the barista is of their game – haha). The coffee has a magnificently smooth flavour and the temperature of each cup is always perfect. Some of the staff (and customers) are a bit too ‘cool for school’, but they do have a great shop in a trendy location, so that is par for the course.

Tiger Tiger is my city trusty stone coffee place. Love the location and the ambience, not to sure bout some of the “fixed gear mt lawely” types though, and some of the staff are a bit to cool for school. But we’re here for the coffee, and the owner makes a pearler every time and remembers your order even if you havn’t been there in a while. I have had a few bad ones – but that’s the way it go’s everywhere. Definately to be avoided on the weekend mornings, unless you like to be standing in line with lots of sweaty men in lycra and bike shoes.

I think tiger tiger should win the award for having the most consistently excellent coffee since the day they opened. I love what they’ve done with the new bar licence and menu, and I’m loving the table service

This a great spot – you feel like you are out of the city in this little hideaway. Sitting inside you could be forgiven for thinking it was a cosy Melbourne cafe, while outside you can get carried away by the entertainment and think you are in the courtyard of a small bar. It really is a true bar AND cafe.
Coffee is generally very good, however the service can vary widely from being pleasantly cheeky to incredulously apathetic.

I had hear alot about Tiger Tiger and was eager to check it out myself.. I quite like the feel of the alfresco lane-way cafe. Service was prompt and the coffee came out looking a bit below par – obviously the barista isn’t into latte art, which is ok as everything else (taste, temperate, strength) was spot on.. Definitely a recommendation, would like to try again to compare notes.
